Welcome to Grace House

A safe, temporary shelter for people experiencing homelessness

Welcome to
Grace House

Grace House is a nonprofit organization that provides safe, temporary shelter for people experiencing homelessness. As Itasca County’s only homeless shelter, Grace House typically serves more than 200 individuals and children each year.

Grace House guests may stay at the shelter for up to 30 days if needed to focus on developing life and job skills that enable them to become more self-sufficient in the community. The shelter is equipped with an on-site mini resources center where guests can access employment and housing opportunities. Private office spaces afford guests the opportunity to meet with Grace House’s trained staff and other professionals in a private, confidential setting. View our provided services here.

Grace House Renovation & Expansion Grand Opening – Thursday, May 8th at 1 PM

The Grace House Grand Opening for our recently completed renovation and expansion homeless shelter is set for Thursday, May 8th at 1pm.

There will be a ribbon cutting, brief program and tours.

Our $2 million renovation and expansion were because of the Shelter Capital Funds, which were appropriated during the 2023 Legislative Session. Our funds were approved in November 2023, we had a groundbreaking May 9, 2024, and started construction in June 2024. The project was completed, and we moved back into the shelter, March 1, 2025. The project increased our capacity from ten households to twenty and potentially could serve as high as twenty-five individuals if we have families with children.
